Ode to Leaf

"Who are you," she asked.

He said, "I am a leaf."

But you have legs and arms like people.

He said with a chuckle, "I am not like people."
How about persons? That is another good word.
They describe 'MAN'"

"But you are a person. you have lips and eyes. You speak
fluently the language of people, at that."

"No, I am not a person. But if you would like,
you can indulge yourself for a lifetime trying to
make me a person or accept that I am a leaf."

"You're messing with my mind, right?"

Leaf chuckles with no reply.
